Welcome to stay free & crafty!
stay free & crafty is the home of my newsletter that flits from topic to topic. But as of late, it’s been a writing exercise. Mostly. What started out as a need to escape the traditional social media landscape has turned into a full-fledged creative outlet.
And because I want our relationship to be healthy and long-lasting, I will be upfront with you —
I am not quite sure what I am doing, what to make of all this, and where this will lead.
And if you are ok with all this, then I invite to stay and join me. Of note, even though I have pledges turned on as a feature, I have no plan to create tiers of access in the future. My posts will always be free to you.
Subscribe for FREE (semi)monthly creative writings!
What you can expect if you subscribe
When you subscribe, any new piece of writing will be sent straight to your inbox. As of late, my posts have turned into a tapestry of:
memoiresque vignettes
project updates (cooking, baking, podcasting, crocheting, etc.)
“creative diary entries”
Here are some examples:
“Album (Creative Diary, Entry #2)” - all about my current project to make an album with my husband.
“Sur” - a reflection on our recent trip up the Californian coast to the mystical land of Big Sur.
“Funployment” - all about my side gig as a creative director for my cousin’s spiritual small business.
But my favorite kind of post to write has been the retelling of moments past, like “Lucy” and “Replay”.
For a more whimsical time, you can find me over at Notes.
stay free & crafty is a reader-supported free newsletter. If you want to support me, please consider a pledge or merely liking, commenting, and sharing my posts. Any little bit helps!
Thank you for your interest in stay free & crafty. I hope sitting with me at my messy desk will inspire you to follow your own creative expressions.
Bio
Maribel is just another aging millennial with way too much to say, too many hobbies, and all the advantages the digital age can afford such a person.
On any given day, she calls herself a variety of things: writer, producer, podcaster, maker, creative. She’s also a wife and freelancer.
She enjoys journaling, going out for Indian, sipping a strong cup of coffee, hanging out in bookstores, writing letters, taking pictures of her food at cafes, shuffling her tarot decks, just to name a few things.
You can also find her elsewhere here.
