You make me want to go back and watch it again; I remember seeing it in the theaters and it was good, but never re-watched it. Unfortunately it spawned so many terrible sequels the whole Chucky thing turned into a bad joke...

Oh. My. Gawd. The screenshots of the movie brought back so many memories. Excellent reflections. They don't make them like this anymore. Camp and horror and the bizarre all in one. Doll horror always simultaneously cracks me up and creeps me out. I love it. I need to go re-watch this STAT!

This was a great movie! The sequels not so much, but the first one was a masterpiece! They don't make horror like this anymore.

I love the original Child's Play films! I'm even a sucker for some of the 2000s Chucky movies. Brad Dourif is always a treat.

You know, I've never seen any of the Chucky films!

The concept of this movie scared the daylights out of me as a kid. Later on, I played through (and thoroughly enjoyed) the video game Myst 3: Exile, and learned about the great actor who played the antagonist - Brad Dourif. It wasn't until I looked him up years later that I realized the amount of fame he had in the horror community because of his Chucky role. He's been an actor I've rooted for ever since.

It's been a long while since I've seen any of the Child's Play movies. I remember enjoying them pretty well, mainly the first two. (Though none of the sequels were really necessary.) Chucky makes for a plenty creepy antagonist and the fact he's chiefly going after a very believable child character makes that all the more effective.

On a slightly related note, if you want to catch another horror movie that puts the grit of the Chicago projects on display, I highly recommend giving a watch to the original Candyman. That movie plays on the idea of urban legends and how they can play into daily living in rougher neighborhoods quite well. Plus it's just a damn good ghost story, much enhanced by Tony Todd's performance in the titular role.

I was just thinking about this film earlier today, it's a classic! Perhaps I'll put it on while I do my laundry today...
