A silly little dream of mine is coming true.
We are making progress, step by step, one studio session at a time.
I am proud to announce that at this point, the only recording that remains is a few instrumental solos. And that’s it.
After that, it’s all The Boy. He will be hunkering down to edit my vocals and these few solos; mixing and mastering will follow. A listen-through for final considerations. And then… that’s it.
The album, this crazy idea for recording an album full of some of my favorite songs to sing in the whole wide world, will be complete.
The past few weeks have been an awe-inspiring experience for me. As our walk-in closet transformed into a recording booth and our bedroom into a control room, nothing felt more natural. It has been a while but muscle memory kicked in almost immediately. I was almost taken aback by how familiar it all felt. How easy it was to take my place at the microphone. How comfortable I felt being guided through a vocal performance, take after take. The hours flew by with each session. It was pure bliss.
And, y’all. I cannot even begin to convey how good The Boy is at all this stuff. He took his role as producer, and part-time vocal coach, very seriously — and thank goodness! What a talent and creative force he can become when the occasion arises. These abilities are always with him, yes, but to have him share them with the world — this is the real gift.1
A big hearty welcome to all the new folks here! I am thrilled and humbled to know you have decided to sit at our table in the giant high school cafeteria that is the Substackverse.
And if you are new, or would just like a refresher about our album that we are working on, you can read all about it in this previous post:
Things are moving and shaking over here so stay tuned for more updates - hopefully, it won’t be long now before I can share the final product!2
Dearest reader, you have been patient and understanding beyond my comprehension. I have been away — no worries, nothing serious just unbelievably time-consuming. Just know that I will always be here, even if a little less frequently than I would like. Sometimes we need to flow with the current season of our lives, yes?
Your constancy and support mean the world, the stars, and the planets to me.
Thank you, again, for reading and listening.
Stay charming,

.I could go on, but don’t want to embarrass The Boy any further. :)
I’m not even quite sure I can share a whole album in a post but I will certainly try! And if not, I will figure out an easy way for you to download it.
✨ Yes!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!
